郭德銀，1965年4月于河南省夏邑縣，國家杰出青年基金獲得者，國家“973”重大科學研究計劃項目首席科學家，國家基金委創(chuàng)新研究群體骨干成員。
現(xiàn)任中山大學醫(yī)學院院長，教授、博導(dǎo)，國家杰出青年基金獲得者，國家“973”計劃首席科學家，中國微生物學會病毒學專業(yè)委員會主委，國家創(chuàng)新人才推進計劃重點領(lǐng)域創(chuàng)新團隊負責人。學科專業(yè)：微生物學/病毒學、病原生物學、分子生物學。
曾任武漢大學基礎(chǔ)醫(yī)學院院長，武漢大學生命科學學院副院長，武漢大學生命科學學院教授，病毒學國家重點實驗室副主任，武漢大學現(xiàn)代病毒學研究中心負責人。2001年6月提升為赫爾辛基大學生物系副教授。從2002年9月起受聘武漢大學生命科學學院病毒學科特聘教授任基礎(chǔ)醫(yī)學院院長。2016-2020任中山大學基礎(chǔ)醫(yī)學院（深圳）院長研究RNA病毒（正冠狀病毒亞科和丙型肝炎）的基因組復(fù)制和與宿主細胞相互作用的分子機理。
