《彩虹小馬：小馬國女孩3-友誼大賽》（My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Friendship Games），是美國-加拿大動畫《彩虹小馬：友情就是魔法》的系列電影，將于2015年9月上映。本片是小馬國女孩系列的第三部電影，與前作相同，故事是以人類世界的坎特拉高中（Canterlot High）為故事舞臺，不同的是前兩集中均是由小馬世界的twi-light Sparkle變身為人類與好友們演繹魔法傳奇故事，真正屬于人類世界的Twilight Sparkle將在本片中出場。
劇情簡介
坎特拉高中這次將與死對頭－水晶預備高校（晶體 Prep Academy）進行一場學校間的‘友誼競賽’，但Sunset Shimmer與朋友們卻發現人類世界的Twilight Sparkle竟是水晶預備高校的學生，過去熟悉的同伴，這一次成了競爭對手，而且她們發現，Twilight Sparkle身上似乎有個天大的秘密......

生存于人類世界的Twilight Sparkle原是水晶西南民族大學預科教育學院一名成績優異的學生，她勤奮刻苦，仿佛無所不知，因此她站在了學校最頂尖的位置。但她對于科學與高等數學過于著迷，一心想要進入埃弗頓獨立研究計劃，以至于無心與身邊的同學們交往，這使得所有同學都疏遠她，甚至故意刁難她、對她惡語相向。為了研究魔法，她制作了一個能夠追蹤魔法的電磁儀，并借參加友誼大賽的機會來到坎特拉高中。
令她驚異的是，坎特拉高中的所有師生都認識她，對她十分友好，六位陌生女孩甚至與她親密地搭肩。而在學術比賽前后，不斷有魔法能量肆意涌出，被吸納進她電磁儀中。在運動競技中，電磁儀中的魔法被意外釋放，魔法裂縫中的怪異生物在運動場上肆意橫行，險些造成人員傷亡。對校的女孩Sunset Shimmer對她的這種行為感到十分氣憤，希望她“不要隨意研究自己一無所知的東西”。
但在最后一項比賽中，在自己好奇心的驅使和水晶西南民族大學預科教育學院參賽師生的蠱惑下，她再次打開電磁儀，當然她并沒有準備好迎接這些全新的魔法，她很快就被強大的魔法能量吞噬并由此墮落成了Midnight Sparkle,自私地想要撕裂這一個世界以占有小馬國(Equestria)的所有魔法。最終Sunset Shimmer靠友誼魔法變身成為Daydream Shimmer擊敗了Midnight Sparkle并勸說她回心轉意。此后Twilight放棄了去埃弗頓獨立研究計劃的愿望轉學來到坎特拉高中以學習她所不了解的東西——友誼。
Twilight擁有一條叫做Spike的狗，它因為被魔法擊中而會說話。
在第四部Legend of Everfree中獲得了全新的變身形態和魔法。
為了與來自小馬國的Twilight Sparkle區分開來，馬迷更多的時候叫她"Sci-Twi"（Scientist Twilight（科學家暮暮）的簡稱）。
余暉爍爍
來自小馬國的Sunset Shimmer原是一匹紅黃相間鬃毛，橙黃色身體的獨角獸，可愛標志是一個紅黃相間的太陽。曾就讀于天才獨角獸學院，法力高強的她想要獲得更多的權利而被導師Princess Celestia放逐。她一意孤行，跳進了水晶魔鏡穿越到了人類世界，從此就踏上了一條不歸之路。在秋舞會上被來自小馬國的Twilight Sparkle和她的朋友們利用友誼魔法打敗，自此洗心革面。音樂節上用魔法筆記本召喚回了小馬Twilight并和朋友們聯手擊碎了邪惡的海妖的魔咒，第二部結尾她加入了主角們的樂隊"Rainboom"。
在友誼大賽中她作為坎特拉高中的參賽代表，想要控制魔法，不讓它在比賽中出現否則就會被判作弊，自己嘗試無果求助于小馬Twilight也無回信，因此她想要穿越回小馬國尋求小馬Twilight的幫助，卻被一旁的人類Twilight吸走了傳送門的魔法使其關閉。她多次想找人類Twilight要回魔法但始終沒有結果，而Twilight的電磁儀接二連三地吸走了六位女孩體內的友誼魔法。在人類Twilight儲存（或說偷竊）的魔法威脅到朋友們的生命時，她忍無可忍地朝著Twilight大吼大叫，希望她希望她“不要隨意研究自己一無所知的東西”，但這一過激的舉動傷害到了Twilight，她對此深感愧疚。
在最后一項比賽中，她曾試圖阻止Twilight打開電磁儀釋放魔法但最終為時已晚。在躲避Midnight Sparkle的激光束時無意間撿到了Twilight落下的電磁儀，她靠它重新收集朋友們的友誼魔法并變身為Daydream Shimmer擊敗了Midnight Sparkle并勸說她回心轉意。她終于明白了魔法產生的原因——每個人在展現各自所代表的元素是就會小馬化(Pony Up)。最終接納了twi-light并與其成為好友。
在第四部Legend of Everfree中獲得了全新的變身形態和魔法。

生存于人類世界的Rainbow Dash是坎特拉高中的一名學生，并且擔當學校中所有校隊的隊長。她勇敢直率，男孩子氣卻偶爾有些傲嬌，是個十足的假小子。她踢足球的技術高超精湛，可謂百發百中，在第一部中曾被Sunset Shimmer挑撥離間好友AppleJack分離，在Twilight的幫助下重歸于好，并幫助Twilight當上了秋舞會的公主并將Sunset打敗。在音樂節上擔任樂隊“Rainbom”的吉他手，協助Twilight擊敗了海妖。
在友誼大賽中她作為坎特拉高中的參賽代表，由于同學們一直在以往比賽中處于下風而垂體喪氣，為了重振同學們的士氣，她與坎高鼓樂團合作演唱了CHS Rally Song，使得伙伴們重新振作起來，積極準備著參賽。在運動競技中，接二連三的怪異生物的出現使得賽場大亂，Sunset在躲避怪物之時不慎從摩托車上摔落，而另一旁的怪物正伺機而動，要攻擊Sunset時，Rainbow挺身而出，拯救Sunset的同時自己也“小馬化”，長出了馬耳朵和翅膀。然而她的魔法不久后被Twilight的電磁儀吸去。
在Twilight墮落時她為Sunset提供了“忠誠”的魔法能量，使Sunset成功擊敗Twilight。最終接納了twi-light并與其成為好友。
在第四部Legend of Everfree中獲得了全新的變身形態和魔法。
