西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)是中國(guó)辦學(xué)歷史悠久的綜合性財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)之一，有著優(yōu)秀的大學(xué)文化傳承，歷史積淀深厚。其前身光華大學(xué)創(chuàng)辦于1925年，抗戰(zhàn)爆發(fā)后，于1938年遷成都市。
1952-1953年經(jīng)兩次全國(guó)高等院校院系調(diào)整，誕生了一所完全嶄新的大學(xué)“四川財(cái)經(jīng)學(xué)院”。
西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)簡(jiǎn)介
1980年1月，學(xué)校正式劃歸中國(guó)人民銀行總行主管并被確定為中國(guó)人民銀行總行直屬的、唯一的重點(diǎn)院校。以金融為重點(diǎn)迅速發(fā)展，服務(wù)金融經(jīng)濟(jì)成為學(xué)校的主要辦學(xué)特色。1985年11月，學(xué)校更名為西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)。中央財(cái)經(jīng)系統(tǒng)副部級(jí)以上領(lǐng)導(dǎo)（如中國(guó)證監(jiān)會(huì)、銀監(jiān)會(huì)、審計(jì)署等）、知名工商業(yè)及金融系統(tǒng)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)（如招商銀行、中信銀行、光大銀行、北京銀行等）很多都出自西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)。
1995年3月，在全國(guó)文科類院校中第一個(gè)通過(guò)了國(guó)家“211工程”建設(shè)預(yù)審，接著進(jìn)入正式立項(xiàng)程序。2000年2月，學(xué)校以獨(dú)立建制由中國(guó)人民銀行劃轉(zhuǎn)教育部直接管理，融入我國(guó)高等教育主流，進(jìn)一步彰顯金融特色和財(cái)經(jīng)特色。
西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)不僅是四川省和西部的高水平大學(xué)，也是中國(guó)和世界的特色鮮明高水平財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)，被譽(yù)為“中國(guó)金融人才庫(kù)”和“西部地區(qū)經(jīng)濟(jì)管理人才的搖籃”。如今學(xué)校進(jìn)一步實(shí)施“智庫(kù)工程”，增強(qiáng)服務(wù)社會(huì)、服務(wù)經(jīng)濟(jì)改革與發(fā)展的能力，為國(guó)家、地方經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展更好地發(fā)揮思想庫(kù)和智囊團(tuán)作用。學(xué)校已形成以經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)和管理學(xué)學(xué)科為主體，金融學(xué)科為重點(diǎn)，多學(xué)科協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展，經(jīng)、管、法、文、理、工相結(jié)合的學(xué)科特色。金融學(xué)、政治經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、會(huì)計(jì)學(xué)和統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)為國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科。
研究院概述
西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)與管理研究院是西南財(cái)大為適應(yīng)國(guó)際化發(fā)展趨勢(shì)，改革經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)與管理學(xué)人才培養(yǎng)模式、轉(zhuǎn)換科學(xué)研究范式，于2006 年新成立的專門吸收海外經(jīng)濟(jì)、金融與管理領(lǐng)域的博士畢業(yè)生和研究人員的教學(xué)、研究機(jī)構(gòu)。研究院的目標(biāo)是努力創(chuàng)立一個(gè)國(guó)內(nèi)一流、國(guó)際知名的經(jīng)濟(jì)與管理研究中心，成為祖國(guó)西部地區(qū)乃至全國(guó)的重要思想庫(kù)和智囊中心。
西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)與管理研究院目前已有40余名來(lái)自海外的經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)者，包括4名外籍學(xué)者，并且仍繼續(xù)在海外大規(guī)模招聘。很多成員已在主流的英文經(jīng)濟(jì)和管理領(lǐng)域的期刊上發(fā)表過(guò)論文。成員的研究領(lǐng)域廣泛，涵蓋計(jì)量經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、微觀經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、宏觀經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、金融學(xué)、產(chǎn)業(yè)組織理論、城市與房地產(chǎn)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、環(huán)境經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、管理經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、數(shù)理經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)等，非常有利于進(jìn)行經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)理論和實(shí)證的交叉學(xué)科合作研究。由于成員們多數(shù)已于出國(guó)留學(xué)前取得國(guó)內(nèi)碩士或學(xué)士，不少成員在中文核心期刊上發(fā)表過(guò)論文或出版過(guò)中文論著，因此既熟悉中國(guó)國(guó)情，又長(zhǎng)于運(yùn)用現(xiàn)代經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)方法來(lái)研究中國(guó)現(xiàn)實(shí)問(wèn)題。
研究院以北美知名大學(xué)的經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)與管理學(xué)博士培養(yǎng)方案為主要參照模式，設(shè)有碩博連讀班，以及本科班。教學(xué)全程采用英語(yǔ)原版教材、運(yùn)用純英文教學(xué)。憑借研究院教師之海外學(xué)術(shù)背景，同時(shí)立足本土，培養(yǎng)既有經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)與管理學(xué)系統(tǒng)知識(shí)，又能運(yùn)用現(xiàn)代經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)分析方法研究、解決實(shí)際問(wèn)題的高素質(zhì)人才。
研究院將有計(jì)劃、有重點(diǎn)地分批建設(shè)若干個(gè)研究所（中心），承接國(guó)內(nèi)外重大科研項(xiàng)目。研究院組織定期的學(xué)術(shù)討論會(huì)，邀請(qǐng)國(guó)內(nèi)相關(guān)研究領(lǐng)域的知名學(xué)者介紹最新研究進(jìn)展。

About RIEM
The Research Institute of Economics and 管理學(xué) (RIEM) at 西南財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué) was established in 2006. Dedicated to high-quality teaching and research in economics, finance, and management, RIEM’s goal is to become an internationally-acknowledged research center as well as a leading Chinese think tank.
All of RIEM’s faculty members hold doctoral degrees from well-established universities all over the world, including the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Canada, France, and Singapore. Their publications have appeared in respected, international journals such as Games and Economic Behavior; Journal of Urban Economics; American Journal of Agricultural Economics; Journal of Financial Research; Review of Economic 動(dòng)力學(xué); Quantitative 推銷理論 and Economics; Economic Inquiry; Urban Studies; Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics; 能量 Economics; Journal of Industrial Economics Transportation Research; and many others.
RIEM frequently invites scholars from various countries for teaching and research collaboration. Invited speakers make presentations on their working papers at RIEM’s weekly seminar series. Additionally, every year RIEM hosts several international conferences related to different subjects in the fields of economics and 管理學(xué)
One of RIEM’s research centers, the Overseas Study & Exchange Center (OSEC) , was established in 2006. The center strives to promote and facilitate RIEM students’ overseas academic studies as well as exchange programs. RIEM currently has successful collaborative programs with several highly-regarded overseas universities, on both undergraduate (“2+2”) and postgraduate levels.
The Economics and Management International Immersion Talent (EMIT) Program, RIEM’s undergraduate program, was established in 2009. All EMIT courses are taught in English and on par with top international academic standards. EMIT students are under general economics and 管理學(xué) majors during their first and second years in the program. During their third year, they choose two majors from the four that RIEM offers: economics, finance, management, and accounting.
