《法之書》是由二十世紀(jì)最偉大的魔法師愛德華·亞歷山大（亞雷斯塔·克勞利）所著的一本以奇特文法所寫成的魔道書，《法之書》的原典目前收藏在羅馬正教的梵蒂岡圖書館內(nèi)。
《法之書》，是就連收藏了十萬三千本魔道書的茵蒂克絲也無法解讀的禁書。在9月8日的奧索拉奪還事件中，羅馬正教陰謀敗露，雅妮絲部隊(duì)被上條當(dāng)麻、史提爾以及天草式宗人合力擊破。根據(jù)記載，他說是一個(gè)叫“愛華斯”（Aiwass）的秘界領(lǐng)袖在開羅向他傳授的，這個(gè)口授筆錄的過程共歷三小時(shí)，每日由中午十二時(shí)開始，準(zhǔn)一時(shí)完結(jié)，共三日，時(shí)為1904年的4月。
解讀
《法之書》，就連收藏了十萬三千本魔道書的 茵蒂克絲也無法解讀的禁書。根據(jù)禁書目錄的說法，以目前現(xiàn)有的語言學(xué)知識(shí)根本不可能解讀這本書。所以，她只能將尚未解讀的《法之書》暗號文章 囫圇吞棗地背進(jìn)腦袋里?！斗ㄖ畷分凶钪匾母拍睿谟谧髡弑救怂f過的一句話：『為汝所欲為，即為汝之法』（封面上除了標(biāo)題外的一行英文），但除此之外的細(xì)節(jié)，則沒有人知道。
《法之書》中的內(nèi)容相當(dāng)珍貴，只要能夠成功解讀，就可以獲得極為強(qiáng)大的力量。據(jù)說《法之書》中所記載的術(shù)式實(shí)在太過強(qiáng)大，一旦施展出來，如今這個(gè)由十字教所支配的世界將會(huì)面臨末日。甚至有一派說法，是讀過這本書的人，連超越人類極限的天使術(shù)式都可以運(yùn)用自如。據(jù)說每次當(dāng)克勞利陷入無法抉擇的窘境時(shí)，就會(huì)用《法之書》來進(jìn)行書籍占卜，根據(jù)占卜出來的內(nèi)容來決定該怎么做。換句話說，這是一本可以替全世界最強(qiáng)的 魔法師決定方向的魔道書，相當(dāng)于曾經(jīng)掌握近代西洋魔法的歷史。
實(shí)際上，羅馬正教根本不想獲得《法之書》這種太過強(qiáng)大的武器，他們想要的是征服世界的武器，而不是毀滅世界的武器。因此當(dāng)羅馬正教修女 奧索拉·阿奎納宣稱獲得《法之書》的解讀法后，決定暗中將唯一有可能獲得《法之書》力量的奧索拉加以抹除。奧索拉由于覺察到了自己的危險(xiǎn)處境，只身前往 日本并得到了「天草式十字凄教」幫助的承諾。與此同時(shí)，羅馬正教以舉辦國際展覽會(huì)為名，將假《法之書》送到了日本的博物館中展覽，并導(dǎo)演一出《法之書》被搶和奧索拉被劫持的假戲，并派出雅妮絲部隊(duì)名為尋找失蹤的奧索拉實(shí)為殺死奧索拉。在9月8日的奧索拉奪還事件中，羅馬正教陰謀敗露，雅妮絲部隊(duì)被 上條當(dāng)麻、史提爾以及天草式宗人合力擊破。
最終經(jīng)茵蒂克絲的證實(shí)，實(shí)際上奧索拉得出的《法之書》解讀法是錯(cuò)誤的。正如茵蒂克絲所說：《法之書》最可怕的地方就在于解讀法有超過一百種以上。而且每一種解讀法都可以排列出一篇文章，但這些都是假的?！斗ㄖ畷凡⒎菬o人能夠解讀。其實(shí)，任何人都可以解讀《法之書》，因?yàn)闀?huì)被引誘到錯(cuò)誤的解讀法上。所謂『為汝所欲為，即為汝之法』，換句話說，就是自己以為是正確答案的解讀法，可以為《法之書》創(chuàng)造出無數(shù)種『錯(cuò)誤解答』。
現(xiàn)實(shí)世界中的《法之書》
由英國著名神秘學(xué)家、作家、登山家、詩人、瑜珈修行者亞雷斯塔·克勞利寫作完成，被稱為“將改變幾千年宗教命運(yùn)”的作品而被西方許多國家視為“禁書”。

亞雷斯塔在1904年4月8日前后的三天在開羅完成，傳說他中午就進(jìn)入他的房間內(nèi)，并將他背后的聲

《法之書》要人遵行的，是一條簡單的“秘界諭旨”(Law of the Thelema)：“作你要作的乃是律法的總綱”。放任的一代(如六十年代的嬉皮士)把它解作“想做就去做”，Crowley則解作“只作你必須去作的，其他則保持原狀”。有學(xué)者認(rèn)為這是道家“無為”的思想。
他在《法之書》中宣稱，他就是啟示錄所言之獸，記號就是666，而那穿朱紅色衣服的淫丨婦(啟十七：5)亦已顯現(xiàn)地上，那就是出現(xiàn)在亞雷斯塔身邊的女人，其中尤以希薩(Leah Hirsig)為然。Crowley特別為她建立了“作你要作的”修院，好與她共修性秘術(shù)，和服食“古怪的藥物”。希薩受了酒、毒和性的剌激，常說能與埃華斯接頭，Crowley則把她得的異象記在他的《巫術(shù)日志》內(nèi)。

ordeals in one, and it may be given in three ways. The gro??個(gè) must pass
through fire; let the fine be tried in intellect, and the lofty chosen ones
in the highest. Thus ye have star & star, system & system; let not one know
well the other!
51.There are four gates to one palace; the floor of that palace is of silver
and gold; lapis lazuli & jasper are there; and all rare scents; ja?mine &
rose, and the emblems of 死亡 Let him enter in 轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng) or at once the four
gates; let him stand on the floor of the palace. Will he not sink? Amn. Ho!
warrior, if thy servant sink? But there are means and mean?. Be goodly
therefore: dress ye all in fine apparel; eat rich foods and drink sweet wines
and wines that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love as ye will, when,
where and with whom ye will! But always unto me.
