王進軍，男，漢族，甘肅天水人，1970年生，1993年6月加入中國共產黨，1997年7月參加工作，研究生學歷，理學博士，博士生導師，享受國務院政府特殊津貼。1997年畢業于西南大學并獲理學博士學位。
現任西南大學校長、黨委副書記，教授、博士研究生導師，昆蟲學及害蟲控制工程重慶市重點實驗室主任、國際SystematicandAppliedAcarology刊物、國內《昆蟲知識》《植物保護》《中國南方果樹》《西南大學學報》（自然科學版）編委、國際儲藏物保護大會常設委員會委員、重慶市植物保護學會理事長。

科研成就
主要從事昆蟲分子生態學、昆蟲分子毒理學、儲藏物昆蟲學、入侵生物學、有害生物綜合治理等領域的研究與教學工作，特別是在昆蟲適應環境脅迫的分子生態學研究方面具有較深的造詣。先后主持國家自然科學基金項目、國家重點基礎研究（973）項目子專題、霍英東優秀青年教師科研基金、教育部科學技術研究重點項目、教育部博士點基金、教育部留學回國人員科研啟動基金、人事部留學回國人員擇優資助項目、國家外國專家局農業引智成果示范推廣項目、市科委科技攻關等項目等20余項。
在國際上首次報道了儲藏物害蟲書虱對氣調處理產生抗性的基因潛力，并在實驗室選育出了數個抗性品系，闡明了抗性發生發展的生理生化機理。應用比較毒理學的研究方法，系統研究了幾種常見書虱對不同類型殺蟲劑的敏感性差異，并就差異的生化機理進行了探討，克隆了嗜卷書虱乙酰膽堿酯酶的基因片段。研究了書虱體內共生微生物 Wolbachia對書虱的生殖調控作用，有望開辟出儲藏物害蟲生物防治的新途徑。系統研究了棉紅蜘蛛適應酸雨脅迫的分子生態學激勵，并就不同品系的適合度進行了評估，研究結果對于酸雨污染區歐洲塵螨綜合治理具有極大的參考價值。初步研究了生態系統對紫莖澤蘭入侵的抵御機制。
發表論著100余篇，22篇被SCI收錄。
