謝旗,男,1963年7月出生,遺傳學家,博士及博士后,中山大學生命科學學院特聘教授。1987年7月畢業于中山大學生物系獲得學士;1990年獲得廣東省微生物研究所碩士學位,并于同年獲得歐洲共同體獎學金赴馬德里康普頓斯大學攻讀博士學位,1994年獲得分子生物學博士學位;現在中科院遺傳與發育生物學研究所工作。他是植物蛋白修飾和降解研究項目的首席科學家,被教育部授予第四批"長江學者"特聘教授稱號,并享受國務院政府特殊津貼。謝旗教授的科研成就得到了國家的認可,曾獲得國家自然科學獎等多項榮譽。
工作經歷
1995年至1998年,謝旗在西班牙馬德里自治大學分子生物學中心及美國洛克菲勒大學分別從事博士后研究。1998年起,他被聘為新加坡國立大學分子農業生物學學院研究員,并后續擔任植物細胞研究室執行主任。2001年起,謝旗回到中國,任中山大學生命科學院長江學者及特聘教授,組建了植物分子信號傳導研究室。他多次受邀至美國、加拿大、法國、荷蘭、日本、墨西哥等國進行學術報告。
科研成果
主要致力于泛素介導的蛋白修飾及植物逆境脅迫信號傳導的分子機制研究。在植物細胞周期調控研究中,于1995年首次向科學界以足夠的實 驗根據推論植物細胞周期的調控和動物細胞周期的重要相似論——植物中存在類似于動物細胞周期的負調控因子(Retinoblastoma),1996年 首次從植物中分離到全長的Retinoblastoma. 由于該工作給植物細胞周期研究者打下了良好的基礎,使得其他細胞周期因子被陸續克隆,除此 以外還參與了另一個植物細胞周期重要調節因子E2F的克隆,該工作也是首次在植物中報道,并獲得幾項專利,成果分別發表在embo Journal( 1995,1996)上,被引頻次超過100次。
1997-2000年作為項目主持人及核心成員參與由美國National Science Foundation及Singapore National Science Council資助的“植物周期調控因子和植物發育的關系”課題。首次證實該植物周期調控因子家族屬于植物特有的轉錄調控 因子并在植物生長素的信號傳遞方面起著重要作用,在仔細研究其中一個成員NAC1時發現該因子在植物的根系發育上起決定性的作用。該工作 在Genes&Development(2000)上發表,并獲專利。
用NAC1作為誘餌從植物中分離到一個新的具有C3HC4 RING Finger的蛋白SINAT5。利用遺傳學及生物化學的方法證實了SINAT5負調節NAC1,在生長素的信息傳遞中起到重要的作用,該成果已登上了英國權威科學期刊《自然》Nature雜 志的封面。
此外,由于SINAT5 基因與人體SIAH基因相似,SIAH基因又與對抗腸癌的研究很有關系,新發現的SINAT5基因的研究成果,相信能 為人類癌癥研究提供科學的依據及啟示。
中國科學院遺傳與發育生物學研究所謝旗研究員科研團隊與國內多家科研機構和院校合作,經過多年研究發現主效耐堿基因AT1,可以顯著提升高粱、水稻、小麥、玉米、谷子等作物在鹽堿地上的產量,且在改良鹽堿地的綜合利用中具有重大應用前景。這一科研成果于北京時間2023年3月24日在國際學術期刊《科學》發表。
