吳清平，博士，男，1962年11月出生，研究員、博士生導師，中國工程院院士，韶關人才形象大使。
現任廣東省科學院微生物研究所名譽所長。2010年，吳清平榮獲全國優秀科技工作者。2012年獲得何梁何利基金科學與技術創新獎。吳清平主要從事生物安全監測與控制、食用菌產業化關鍵技術以及微生物發酵工程領域的研究和開發工作。

主要從事生物安全監測與控制、食用菌產業化關鍵技術以及微生物發酵工程領域的研究和開發工作，主持國家及省部級重大科研項目52項，獲得省級鑒定國際領先或國際先進水平成果39項；獲授權發明專利授權85件；制定國家及地方標準10項，其中國標8項；發表論文500多篇，其中SCI收錄180多篇，獲國家科學技術進步獎二等獎2項，省部級一等獎5項、二等獎4項，中國專利優秀獎3項，廣東省專利金獎1項，廣東省和廣州市專利優秀獎各2項。申請國家發明專利和實用新型專利27項，其中7項已獲專利授權；取得國家、省級和廳局級科技獎5項；在全國性學術刊物和國內外學術會議上發表論文91篇；創辦廣東環凱微生物科技有限公司，積極轉化具有自主知識產權的生物安全監測與控制科研成果，取得銷售額12000萬元，利稅2500萬元，社會效益18億元；主持“食用菌產業化示范項目”新增產值11.8億元，新增利稅2.06億元，出口創匯873.9萬美元，帶動1.7萬戶山區農民發展食用菌生產，獲得社會效益23.5億元，創建礦泉水及飲用純水微生物檢測及質量控制工藝分析方法和難點解決關鍵技術，為中國瓶裝飲用水行業的發展解決了重大技術難題。
