2020年6月，經北京大學黨委組織部、黨委教師工作部建議，醫學部黨委會、醫學部黨政聯席會研究并報學校黨委常委會審議通過，學校決定追授公共衛生學院謝錚“北京大學優秀共產黨員”“北京大學優秀教師”稱號。

1.全球衛生治理，關注全球衛生主要行為體的治理和管理機制，包括世衛組織與非國家行為者交往、世衛組織治理改革等。
2.全球衛生發展援助，關注國際衛生發展援助管理體制，中國對外衛生發展援助項目評價（以瘧疾為例），國際對華衛生發展援助項目效果評價。
3.衛生政策與體系，關注衛生服務的組織和提供方式（供方）和患者就醫行為（需方）。

北京大學公共衛生學院方面表示，謝錚老師熱愛公共衛生事業，致力于貧困地區的衛生事業發展和公共衛生教育。她投身于中國全球衛生學科建設，多次奔赴條件艱苦的非洲國家現場，為建立北京大學首個公共衛生教學科研基地立下汗馬功勞。她致力于中國全球衛生治理和中國全球衛生外交事業，連續參加世界衛生大會和執委會，作為專家全程參與世界衛生組織與非國家行為者交往框架的磋商，作為西太區代表參加WHO改革工作組，是國內全球衛生治理領域不可多得的青年才俊。
