創作背景
波茲·馬龍在2016年12月產生了《rockstar》的創作靈感。該曲的最初小樣版本由Joey Badass和T-pain擔任客串歌手，Joey Badass還參與了原始版本的詞曲創作。但最后21 Savage成為歌曲最終版本的客串歌手。
Tank God于2016年12月在康涅狄格大學制作了《rockstar》的Beat部分。后來他在紐約找到了波茲·馬龍，并將Beat交給了馬龍。當時波茲·馬龍和Joey Badass感覺歌曲中有一部分很別扭，于是他們剪掉了一點聲音，將小樣帶帶到洛杉磯完成了波茲·馬龍部分的錄制。錄制完成后，波茲·馬龍將歌曲發給了21 Savage，之后21 Savage也完成了他的部分。
