郭維棟，男，1972年生，理學博士，教授，博士生導師，南京大學氣候與全球變化研究院院長助理，曾是中國科學院大氣物理研究所副研究員。
先后在大氣科學與地球流體力學數值模擬國家重點實驗室（LASG）和意大利國際理論物理中心（ICTP）進行短期訪問。主要研究方向為陸面-大氣相互作用以及有關北方干旱化形成機理的野外強化觀測試驗、數值模擬等。
人物經歷
2000年獲中科院寒區旱區環境與工程研究所理學博士學位。
2000-2004年分別在南京大學及中科院大氣物理所開展博士后合作研究，期間分別在大氣科學和地球流體力學數值模擬國家重點實驗室（LASG）以及意大利國際理論物理中心（ICTP）進行合作訪問。
2004—2009年受聘中科院大氣物理研究所副研究員，
2009年10月受聘南京大學氣象學教授。
社會任職
教育部“大氣-地球系統科學”國際合作聯合實驗室副主任、“氣候變化”江蘇高校協同創新中心管理委員會副主任。iLEAPS（陸地生態系統與大氣過程綜合研究）中國委員會秘書長，GEWEX（國際能量與水循環試驗）中國委員會副秘書長。
主要成就
科研綜述
主要研究方向為氣候學，側重于陸氣相互作用。近年來，在土壤溫度/濕度影響區域短期氣候變化，以及土地利用對地表―大氣相互作用的規律和機理的影響、陸面參數敏感性試驗和參數優化等領域開展了較為系統的研究。已發表相關學術論文50余篇，合作編寫專著3部。
“全球變化”重大科學研究計劃項目“大尺度土地利用/覆蓋變化對區域氣候影響的研究”（2011CB952000）項目首席科學家（2011-2015年）。先后主持國家自然科學基金四項，曾獲得中國博士后科學基金以及中科院“王寬誠博士后工作獎勵基金”的資助。2011年入選為江蘇省“333高層次人才培養工程”中青年科學技術帶頭人培養對象；2012年入選教育部“新世紀優秀人才”支持計劃。
教學工作
目前承擔本科生專業核心課程“現代氣候學基礎”以及全校通識課程“氣候與全球變化科學基礎”的教學工作。
