鐘楊，男，1960年生于北京，博士生導師，中國國家教育部長江學者講座教授，上海交通大學國際與公共事務學院致遠講席教授。上海交通大學國際與公共事務學院院長，上海交通大學民意與輿情調查中心主任，田納西大學政治學終身教授，武漢大學和四川大學的客座教授。
鐘楊1983年獲得國際關系學院英國文學學士， 1985年獲得國際關系學院國際政治碩士學位，1987獲得美國阿克隆大學政治學碩士，1992年獲得美國肯塔基大學政治學博士學位，并于1991年起任教于美國田納西大學政治學系。歷任田納西大學國際教育處處長，田納西大學中國中心主任，田納西大學政治學系副主任。
鐘楊的研究領域主要是比較政治學理論、政治文化、政治參與、公共管理、城市政府績效評估、民意調查、臺灣海峽關系等。發表過五十余篇學術文章（其中30篇是SSCI文章）。?在2006年3月被全國政協選為全球27個海外特邀代表之一，參加全國政協第十屆四次會議。
研究方向
比較政治學理論、政治文化和政治參與。
主要貢獻
鐘楊教授發表過兩部專著和五本合編學術著作，以及三十多篇學術文章。他的學術文章曾發表在美國一流政治學SSCI學術期刊上，其中包括《Comparative Political Studies》（《比較政治學研究》）， 《Journal of Politics》（《政治學學刊》，《Political Research Quarterly》（政治研究季刊），《Asian Survey》（《亞洲研究》）和《Journal of Contemporary China》（《當代中國期刊》。
