王宏偉,博士,教授,博士生導師,現任清華大學黨委委員、生命科學學院院長。他曾任清華大學生命科學學院教授、博士生導師,以及清華-北大生命科學聯合中心PI和清華-北大結構生物學高精尖創新中心研究員。王宏偉的主要研究方向包括更高效、更高分辨率的冷凍電鏡技術開發,細胞骨架和生物膜系統的協調機制,以及核酸質量控制的分子機制和調控。2016年4月,王宏偉接替國際著名結構生物學家施一公成為清華大學生命科學學院第三任院長。

利用冷凍電子顯微學研究生物大分子復合體的結構與分子機理。

1. 更高效、更高分辨率的冷凍電鏡方法學開發;

科研成就
長期致力于使用冷凍電鏡技術研究生物大分子的結構以及其組裝機制,研究領域集中在細胞骨架動態機理、核糖核酸降解、RNA干擾以及冷凍電鏡方法學。目前已獲得微管和Exosome等的高分辨電鏡結構。此外,還與其他課題組合作,解析了一批具有重要生物學意義的生物大分子的結構。

教育方法
王宏偉每年年底都會給實驗室同學寫寄語,并表示自己最關注的仍然是同學們是否在做科研過程中學會了尋找問題的能力、掌握了新的方法學手段、學會了批判性思考和合理設計實驗的技巧。他更希望同學們在讀書期間學會調節自己的情緒、安排自己的時間、獲得獨立的思維、掌握自己的命運,為自己的未來打下一個良好的基礎。
講授課程
王宏偉堅持參與教學和學生培養工作,年度平均授課54學時。此外,他還主持建立了清華北大生命科學聯合中心研究生課程《現代生物學技術》。
