劉應狀，男，籍貫湖北咸豐，2000年畢業于華中科技大學電信系，獲博士學位，2000－2001年法國巴黎十一大學博士后。現任華中科技大學電子與信息工程系教授、博士生導師、寬帶無線通信學術帶頭人，通信工程系系主任，華中科技大學5G聯創行業應用開發實驗室主任，科技部863計劃和國家自然科學基金項目評審專家，中國電子學會高級會員，湖北省通信學會學術委員會成員，歐洲核子中心CERN/LHC/ALICE國際合作組中國分組技術負責人，美國布魯克海汶國家實驗室BNL/RHIC/PHENIX國際合作組成員。
教授課程
劉應狀教授在華中科技大學承擔多門課程的教學工作，包括面向博士生的《現代通信理論與技術》，面向碩士生的《空間通信》，以及面向本科生的《數據結構》和《信息技術導論》。
研究方向
劉應狀教授的研究方向主要集中在寬帶無線通信領域，包括LTE advanced、5G和空間通信等。

參加第二屆“2022通信、網絡智能演進國際學術會議(IECN) 暨中國工程院6G論壇”，并在線上參與專題研討環節。
2015年11月20日，劉應狀教授應邀來南華大學開展"5G及其關鍵技術"專題講座。劉應狀教授先就移動通信系統的演進過程展開了介紹。從1G到現在的4G以及未來的5G，中國逐步進入世界通信強國行列，也改變著世界通信格局。隨后，重點闡述了5G系統的基本特征以及面臨的挑戰，在5G系統特點中的發展主體、業務需求、無線傳輸速率、技術途徑等方面做了主要的介紹，并且逐步深入地向大家講解5G的關鍵技術。
