坎特伯雷大主教（總主教 of 坎特伯雷），又稱為坎特伯雷圣座（the See of Canterbury），首任主教是圣奧斯定·坎特伯雷，為全英格蘭的首席主教（The Primate of All England）。坎特伯雷大主教是全英國(guó)教會(huì)的主教長(zhǎng)（The See of Church of England），又是全世界圣公會(huì)的主教長(zhǎng)（The Patriarch of the Anglican Communion of Churches），普世圣公宗精神領(lǐng)袖（Leader of the Anglican Communion）。

坎特伯雷大主教主持自1867年起的每十年一次的全世界圣公會(huì)主教會(huì)議，雖然在會(huì)中沒有絕對(duì)的決定權(quán)，但作為普世圣公宗的首領(lǐng)，負(fù)責(zé)協(xié)調(diào)普世圣公宗的所有成員教會(huì)，對(duì)涉及整個(gè)普世圣公宗或者同時(shí)涉及多個(gè)成員教會(huì)的事務(wù)具有最終裁定權(quán)。
