運(yùn)動(dòng)畫(huà)刊（SportsIllustrated）是由媒體巨擘時(shí)代華納所擁有的美國(guó)體育周刊。擁有超過(guò)300萬(wàn)的訂戶，每個(gè)禮拜2300萬(wàn)成人的閱讀量，在美國(guó)包括超過(guò)1300萬(wàn)、19%的男性。是第一個(gè)獲得美國(guó)國(guó)家雜志獎(jiǎng)的卓越表現(xiàn)獎(jiǎng)兩次的雜志中，超過(guò)百萬(wàn)流通量的。

歷史
另外兩個(gè)名稱(chēng)也是運(yùn)動(dòng)畫(huà)刊(SportsIllustrated)的雜志在1930、1940年代創(chuàng)刊，不過(guò)不久后迅速失敗。事實(shí)上，美國(guó)當(dāng)時(shí)并沒(méi)有一本全國(guó)性的體育雜志，時(shí)代雜志的創(chuàng)辦人亨利?魯斯(亨利·盧斯)注意到這個(gè)問(wèn)題，并且考慮填補(bǔ)這個(gè)空白。在當(dāng)時(shí)，許多人認(rèn)為體育是在嚴(yán)肅的新聞事業(yè)之下，并且不認(rèn)為光是體育的內(nèi)容可以填滿一本雜志，特別是在冬天的時(shí)候。魯斯收到許多意見(jiàn)，其中包括生活雜志(LifeMagazine)的厄爾斯特?海夫曼(ErnestHavemann,)，都嘗試阻止這個(gè)計(jì)劃，但不是運(yùn)動(dòng)迷的魯斯卻在這個(gè)時(shí)間點(diǎn)作了正確的決定。

雜志的攝影師alsomadetheirmarkwithinnovationslikeputtingcamerasinthegoalatahockeygameandbehindaglassbackboardata棒球比賽。In1965,offsetprintingbegantoallowthecolorpagesofthemagazinetobeprintedovernight,notonlyproducingcrisperandbrighterimages,butalsofinallyenablingtheeditorstomergethebestcolorwiththelatestnews.By1967,themagazinewasprinting200pagesof"fastcolor"ayear;1983年，SI成為全美首本全彩印刷的雜志。Anintenserivalrydevelopedbetweenphotographers,particularlyWalterIoossandNeilLeifer,togetadecisivecovershotthatwouldbeonnewsstandsandinmailboxesonlyafewdayslater.

創(chuàng)作界限
1967年亨利·盧斯死后，職員的創(chuàng)作自由開(kāi)始減少，由1980年代及1990年代，雜志的盈利更高，但是內(nèi)容是可以預(yù)期料。MarkMulvoywasthefirsttopeditorwhosebackgroundcontainednothingbutsports;hehadgrownupasoneofthemagazine'sreaders,他對(duì)于小說(shuō)、電影、嗜好及歷史沒(méi)有興趣。Mulvoy'stopwriterRickReillyhadalsobeenraisedonSIandfollowedinthefootstepsofmanyofthegreatwritersthathegrewupadmiring,butmanyfeltthatthemagazineasawholecametoreflectMulvoy'scompletelackofsophistication.MulvoyalsohiredthecurrentcreativedirectorStevenHoffman.Criticssaidthatitrarelybroke(orevenfeatured)storiesonthemajorcontroversiesinsports(drugs,violence,commercialism)anymore,andthatitfocusedonmajorsportsandcelebritiestotheexclusionofothertopics.Theproliferationof"commemorativeissues"andcrasssubscriptionincentivesseemedtosomelikeanexchangeofjournalisticintegrityforcommercialopportunism.Moreimportantly,perhaps,manyfeelthat24-hour-a-daycablesportstelevisionnetworksandsportsnewswebsiteshaveforeverdiminishedtheroleaweeklypublicationcanplayintoday'sworld,andthatitisunlikelyanymagazinewilleveragainachievethelevelofprominencethatSIoncehad.
年度最佳運(yùn)動(dòng)員
自1954年創(chuàng)刊以來(lái)，運(yùn)動(dòng)畫(huà)刊雜志頒發(fā)年度最佳運(yùn)動(dòng)員獎(jiǎng)給予"theathleteorteamwhoseperformancethatyearmostembodiesthespiritofsportsmanshipandachievement."RogerBannisterwonthefirsteverSportsmanoftheyearawardthankstohisrecordbreakingtimeof3:59.4foramile(thefirstevertimeamilehadbeenrununderfourminutes)。
封面帶來(lái)的詛咒
當(dāng)美國(guó)聯(lián)棒大聯(lián)盟球員EddieMathews成為第一期的封面人物后。一個(gè)星期后遭到傷患困擾，錯(cuò)失了七場(chǎng)比賽。

November30,1987-Acoverillustratingthevictoryofthethen-#2OklahomaSoonersoverthe#1NebraskaCornhuskerslaudedOklahomaandfeaturedOklahoma'sCharlesThompsononthecover.OnFebruary27,1989,Thompsonagainappearedonthecover:thistimeinhandcuffsandaprisonjumpsuitafterhisarrestonsuspicionofdealingcocaine(hewasconvictedandsentencedtotwoyearsinprison).ThearticleaccusedheadcoachBarrySwitzer'sSoonerprogramasbeingout-of-control,andSwitzerresignedsoonafterwards.
19899月4日-MajorLeagueBaseballCommissionerBartGiamatti'swordsaboutPeteRoseappearedonthecover，在那星期，Giamatti死于心臟病。
