集歌唱外貌于一身的The Supremes，1959年成軍之初，原名為Primettes，成員包含Diana Ross、Mary Wilson、Florence Ballard及Barbara Martin，1960年在Lupine唱片發行兩支單曲后，被Motown創始人Berry Gordy招攬旗下。剛開始，她們只是合音天使，后來更換團名成The Supremes，才獨立出來錄制專輯，并套換時尚亮眼裝扮，將熱情、歡愉的獨特魅力展現在活潑流暢的曲目中，這時Barbara正式離團，剩下The Supremes三人組合的標準機制，Diana Ross也成為團中主唱及靈魂核心。

從業經歷

1959年，15歲的Diana Ross與好友Florence Ballard、Mary Wilson以及Betty McGlown組成一個組合：The Primes。

1960年，Betty McGlown離隊，Barbara Martin加入The Primes

1961年，The Primes簽約摩城唱片，正式改名The Supremes。

1962年，The Supremes發行首張專輯《Meet The Supremes》，英國專輯榜最高排名第八。同年Barbara Martin離隊。
