王均智，2005年在北京大學獲理學博士學位，其中2002年至2004年哈佛大學史密松天體物理中心聯合培養博士生(SAO pre-doc fellow)。2005年至2007年在中國科學院紫金山天文臺博士后。2007年至2013年，南京大學天文與空間科學學院(天文與空間科學學院)副教授。2013年7月起，上海天文臺研究員。
王均智，作為項目負責人(PI)多次獲得國際上大型望遠鏡設備的觀測時間，包括：IRAM30m、SMA、(J)甚大陣射電望遠鏡、CARMA、Effelsberg100米、GBT、Arecibo、SMT10米等。主持973子課題(“射電波段的前沿天體物理課題及500米口徑球面射電望遠鏡早期科學研究”，第五子課題“射電光譜和脈澤源”)一項(2012.1-2016.8)，自然科學基金面上項目一項(2012.1-2015.12)。
研究領域
王均智的主要研究興趣為射電天體物理，利用國內外射電望遠鏡的觀測，研究銀河系內以及近鄰星系中的恒星形成活動、星際介質性質與天體化學過程、活動星系核對其宿主星系的反饋作用、河外星系中的超脈澤、毫米波及亞毫米波天文學等。

曾經講授“實測天體物理”、“射電天體物理”以及“星際介質物理”等課程。
