T.Rex是由英國創作歌手兼吉他手馬克·波蘭于1967年成立的搖滾樂團。樂團最初名為Tyrannosaurus Rex，發行了四張迷幻民俗音樂專輯。1969年，波倫開始將樂團的風格轉向電子搖滾，并將樂團名縮短為T. Rex。這一轉變在1970年的單曲〈Ride a White Swan〉中得以體現，使樂團成為了華麗搖滾運動的先鋒。 自1970年至1973年，暴龍樂團在英國的流行度可與披頭士樂隊相媲美，擁有11首單曲進入英國前十名，其中包括四首冠軍單曲〈Hot Love〉、〈Get It On〉、〈Telegram Sam〉和〈Metal Guru〉。樂團1971年的專輯《Electric Warrior》以其開創性的華麗搖滾風格而廣受好評，并在英國成為了冠軍專輯。1972年的專輯《The Slider》在美國進入前20名。樂團在后續的專輯中加入了靈魂音樂、放克和福音音樂元素，并在1973年發行的專輯《Tanx》中在多個國家進入前五名。從1974年開始，暴龍樂團的吸引力開始下降，但他們仍然每年發行一張專輯。在后續的發行中，他們將搖滾與R＆B影響融合，并偶爾在音樂中加入迪斯科元素，直到回歸簡約的音樂風格。 1977年，創始人、詞曲作者和唯一的常駐成員波倫在發行樂團最后一張錄音室專輯《Dandy in the Underworld》幾個月后死于車禍，樂團隨之解散。暴龍樂團持續影響著許多后來的藝人與樂團。2020年，暴龍樂團入選搖滾名人堂。
介紹
Marc Bolan是華麗搖滾Glam Rock的始祖之一。不僅有相當創新的彈奏方式及音樂編排，更加活躍的則是他音樂下富含哲理的思想。不可諱言的是，即使有相當深度的思想陪襯，Bolan的音樂還是艱澀難懂，
主因是他在歌詞中大量使用古字及古英文的文法還有許多出自詩歌作品的雙關語，即使是英語的native speaker，恐怕也只能聽懂大概意思，而無法通盤了解其歌詞之意。
此外，最引人注目的，莫過於Marc Bolan總是畫上令人模糊性別的濃妝演出，這正是Glam Rock的意含之一，解構社會傳統價值觀，挑戰傳統性別意識。不只是同性戀，更是解放青少年的反叛精神，釋放青少年在傳統束縛底下的情欲。Rolling Stones建立出的男性崇拜搖滾(陽具搖滾)，正被另一波卻也是男性來執行的反動全面顛覆。經歷六零年代搖滾樂從傳統社會中松綁的性欲后，七零年代的Glam Rock更追求所謂性別認同。這是一個美麗的時代，曖昧模糊不定，但卻也十分短促，因為商業的巨獸早已奈何不住他的食欲，一口將新穎文化吞噬，原本Glam Rock的藝術性被咀嚼得一點也不剩，排泄出來的就只有庸俗化、不具任何意識形態的空洞產業，尤其更具藝術性的次文化，越容易打造成商品包裝下的產物，當新一代的青少年空有炫麗的外表而不具當初的文化背景時，Glam Rock就宣告不治了。這似乎是任何次文化所要面臨的困境和挑戰，可惜好像沒有一種次文化能在通過庸俗文化產業的洗禮后還能保有初衷。
