f(x)于2009年11月9日推出首張單曲專輯《Chu》。主打歌MV通過韓國各大音樂網站進行了公開。
專輯的主打歌《Chu》是歐洲最新流行的有歐洲風格的舞曲，還應用了黑人音樂中經常用到的打擊樂，以及加上低音部分多個樂器的強有力的組合，給這首歌添加了幾份爆發力。
歌詞中的《Chu》是親吻的擬聲詞，以被親吻后從睡夢中醒過來的童話中的主人公為主題，表現了通過親吻后想了解更多的精彩世界的一個充滿了好奇與期待的少女的心，加上歌詞中多次反復的《Chu》給人一種微妙的中毒性。
