康北笙，女。嘉興市人。1963年畢業(yè)于臺(tái)灣大學(xué)化學(xué)系。1967年獲芝加哥大學(xué)哲學(xué)博士學(xué)位。后在德國、意大利深造。1972年回國，歷任中國科學(xué)院福建物質(zhì)結(jié)構(gòu)研究所副研究員、結(jié)構(gòu)化學(xué)研究室合成組組長、結(jié)構(gòu)一室主任，福建省科協(xié)副主席，福建省第六、七屆人大常委會(huì)副主任。是第五屆全國政協(xié)委員。
學(xué)術(shù)經(jīng)歷
康北笙先后在美國紐約大學(xué)，布魯克海汶國家實(shí)驗(yàn)室，德國卡爾斯魯大學(xué)進(jìn)行博士后研究。
1972年回國，在中國科學(xué)院福建物質(zhì)結(jié)構(gòu)研究所工作。1995年調(diào)入中山大學(xué)。
曾任職位
康北笙教授曾任福建省人民代表大會(huì)常務(wù)委員會(huì)副主任（六，七屆）。

教學(xué)成績
曾為研究生開設(shè)《金屬有機(jī)化學(xué)》，《現(xiàn)代物理化學(xué)專題》等專業(yè)課，為本科生介紹《固氮酶及其化學(xué)模擬》。
目前為本科生講授《化學(xué)專業(yè)英語》。
已培養(yǎng)二十余名博士后，博士生，和碩士生。
多次獲中國科學(xué)院自然科學(xué)獎(jiǎng)。

RESEARCH INTEREST
Syntheses,structures and physico-chemical properties of transition metal coordination complexes,cluster compounds,and supramolecular complexes,including crystal structural,spectroscopical,electrochemical,and magnetic investigations. Structural regularities are studied,cluster formation mechanisms are interpreted,and crystal engineering processes are investigated via unit construction processes of simple structural units (building blocks)----mononuclear stable or metastable complexes or intermediates.
