在4座格萊美獎、4座全英音樂獎加持和兩張專輯累積全球1700萬張銷售之后，這張費時一年半籌劃而成的全新專輯《X&Y》，或許正是擄獲嬌妻-葛妮絲派特洛的秘密武器！
這次酷玩樂團的新專輯中除了自己獨特地風格外還會融入其他電子音樂等音樂元素。Coldplay為制作這張新專輯可謂煞費苦心，不但選擇在倫敦錄音，而且邀請Danton Supple和KenNelson等著名制作人來制作，相信這次Coldplay一定會給歌迷們一個驚喜。
專輯的封套的設計與1990年的一款電腦游戲Teris很相像，這背后究竟蘊藏了什么特殊含義不得而知。不過最重要的是音樂本身，主唱Chris注入了無限傷感情緒，動人的嗓音唱著溫柔的旋律，從而在酷玩樂團的歌曲中經常能體會出一種憂郁的感覺。
