藝術家：Manowar
來自于New york 的Manowar，成軍于1980年，由貝斯手Joey DeMaio，吉他手Ross The Boss組成。將近20年融合歐式及美式精華的重金屬猛團創團元老貝斯手Joey DeMaio原本是Black Sabbath的音控師，1981年在一場英國紐塞的演唱會上與當時是Shakin Street吉他手的Ross the Boss一見如故后便有組Manowar的念頭，后來主唱Eric Adams與鼓手Donny Hamzik的加入使Manowar正式成立。樂團在1982年發表首張專輯《Battle Hymns》，里面就包含了由名演員Orson Welles跨刀獻聲擔任口白的名曲"Dark Avenger"。在發第二張專輯時鼓手由打起鼓來會使人敬畏的Scott Columbus入替，當時樂團跟唱片公司的合約是破天荒的用鮮血簽約。在花了6天時間錄制了第3張專輯《Hail to England》后，Manowar開始在英國巡回演出。 Manowar樂隊的音樂是狂野的、喧囂的，無窮的力量配合著磅礴的古典樂段，還交支著電鋸般的吉他獨奏。有趣的是，Manowar樂隊曾用10噸重的音箱，40英尺長，21英尺高的揚聲器打破吉尼斯世界紀錄成為世界上最“吵”的樂隊。
