創作背景
為了創作《Butter》，金碩珍和制作人桂范洙—起制定了歌曲的整體的方向和構成，金南俊參加了RAP部分的制作，將添加了不同的元素到歌曲中9。防彈少年團想通過《Butter》延續《Dynamite》的魅力與溫柔，還希望該曲能如歌名一樣，如牛油般融入粉絲們的生活，并把粉絲寫進了歌詞中。

2021年7月，有網友質疑《Butter》開頭抄襲日本游戲公司科樂美于1992年制作的游戲《Monster in My Pocket》的背景音樂，而該曲的作曲者則表示為恰巧相似；荷蘭音樂人Luca Debonaire表示《Butter》其中一名作曲家于2019年時將《Butter》中存在的一段旋律賣給了他，因此認為《Butter》存在版權問題，而防彈少年團的經濟公司Big Hit表示該曲不存在版權問題。

《Butter》是一首充滿濃濃的復古風又華麗的夏日歌曲，歌曲一開始以節奏感強烈的貝斯和鼓聲抓住耳朵，并延續了《Dynamite》中受歡迎的的復古放克節奏，配上了語感更洗練的全英語歌詞。該曲中的獨特鼓點，則致敬了皇后樂隊的歌曲《Another One Bites the Dust》。該曲還埋伏了不少流行元素在里面，有Usher的《U Got it Bad》、邁克爾·杰克遜的《Smooth Criminal》和《Man in the Mirror》。

《黃油》MV可以稱為防彈少年團對粉絲的告白情歌，當金南俊唱到“當我們這么說時，我們就在我們身后”時，防彈少年團的成員迅速散發出A、R、M、Y的字樣告白粉絲。而后金泰亨獨自一人在電梯中，按下一層電梯按鈕，表達了防彈少年團對粉絲的熱愛和感謝。
2023年8月13日韓聯社報道，旗下BIGHIT MUSIC表示，推出男團防彈少年團（BTS）熱曲《Butter》MV在視頻網站優兔（YouTube）的播放量突破9億次大關。
