劇情簡介
Ulee是一名越南戰爭老兵，在佛羅里達州以養蜂為生。Ulee的家庭并不幸福，妻子病逝好幾年，他至今未從悲痛中走出，兒子Jimmy在監獄里服刑，兒媳婦Helen離家出走，丟下兩個女兒由Ulee撫養。所幸Ulee生性隱忍達觀，生活還算平靜穩定。Ulee從Jimmy口中得知，Helen由于與一群毒販混在一起，在苦海中不能自拔。Ulee立刻出發去救出Helen，才發現原來控制Helen的人正是當年Jimmy的搶劫同伙，如果不把搶劫所得的十萬美元還給他們，他們可能就會對Jimmy的兩個女兒下手。與此同時，Ulee還必須幫Helen戒毒，幸好一位鄰居，離異護士Connie向焦頭爛額的他伸出了援手……
