袁萍,女,1963年出生,古浪縣人。西北師范大學物理與電子工程學院教授,博士生導師。主要進行應用光譜分析和雷電物理方面的研究。將原子結構理論應用于閃電物理的研究,將理論計算和實驗觀測相結合,研究了不同強度閃電放電的光譜特征及閃電放電通道的物理特性。

1984年6月起留校在西北師范大學物理系任教。
2007年5月中國科學院寒區旱區環境與工程研究所博士后流動工作站出站,主要從事等離子體光譜分析和雷電物理方面的研究。
2017年5月13日做客省圖公益講座——周末名家講壇。

先后在《物理學報》《Chinese physics》《光譜學與光譜分析》《地球物理學報》《光學學報》《原子與分子物理學報》等知名期刊發表學術論文四十余篇。
主持和參加了國家自然科學基金、省自然科學基金、甘肅省高校等資助的科研項目。
參加的科研項目先后多次獲得甘肅省科委和高校科技進步獎。
將原子結構理論應用于閃電物理的研究,將理論計算和實驗觀測相結合,研究了不同強度閃電放電的光譜特征及閃電放電通道的物理特性,同時也填補了我國在這一研究領域的空白。
