本杰明·盧因（Benjamin Lewin）是分子生物學家，創辦了《細胞》期刊并撰寫了《基因》教材。他在1974年創立了《細胞》期刊，并在1986年建立了自己的出版公司Cell Press。盧因還是分子生物學教材《基因》的作者。此外，盧因也是一位葡萄酒專家，為多個雜志撰稿，同時還撰寫了多本葡萄酒專業書籍，他定期給《TheWorld of Fine Wine》雜志投稿。
人生經歷
盧因在劍橋大學獲得了文科碩士(MA)和博士(PhD)學位,又在倫敦大學獲得了理學碩士(MSc)學位。在薩塞克斯大學擔任了一段時間講師后,他成為了《自然》雜志的編輯。他隨后又到美國國立衛生研究院工作。在那里工作的同時,他開始萌生創立一個緣綜合性的細胞生物學期刊的想法。他創立的《細胞》雜志由麻省理工學院出版社出版發行。
1986年,他完全照搬雜志的標題(bought the title outright),建立了自己的出版公司,起名名為"細胞出版社"。盧因也是廣為暢銷的分子生物學系列教材《基因》的作者,這本書由Jones&Bartlett Learning公司出版發行,已出版受第12版(2017)。在1999年的時候,他把Cell Press轉手賣給了愛思唯爾出版公司。
