泰迪熊獎(Teddy bear)是柏林電影節專門為影展中各個單元反映男女同性戀題材的電影所設的一個專門獎項，從1987年首次頒發第一屆，到2005年，已經第19屆。每年的主題都不一樣。但一般主流媒體多對泰迪獎視而不見，避而不提。
歷史
1987年時，德國電影制作人Wieland Speck和Manfred Salzgeber組織了一個名為“ International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival Association (IGLFFA）”的評審委員會，創設泰迪熊獎來頒發給LGBT議題的電影。
第一位獲得泰迪熊獎的導演是佩德羅－阿爾莫多瓦，得獎影片是由安東尼奧·班德拉斯演出的《La ley del deseo》。
泰迪熊獎在1992年正式成為柏林電影節官方所頒發的獎項之一，1997年非營利組織TEDDY e.V.成立，負責該獎項各種事宜。
寓意
泰迪熊獎和美國同性戀運動史有關。在上個世紀70年代的末期，美國第一代的同性戀運動者們希望通過一種方式，讓別人知道他們是同性戀。他們采用的方法就是讓泰迪熊成為每個人佩戴的一個物品。大家在背包上掛上一個泰迪熊，用這種方法讓其他同性戀群體的人知道，他們并不孤獨。泰迪熊在那一輪浪潮里起到了獨特的作用。另外一個原因，每個人其實都和泰迪熊有種親近感，它是在床上除了自己身體外，可以放置的另外的東西。而且，柏林的吉祥物就是柏林熊。柏林電影節獎項也是金熊獎，泰迪熊是電影節這家族的一個成員。
獎項
泰迪熊獎一共分為三個小項頒發：
短片類（Kurzfilm-Teddy）
紀錄片類（Dokumentar-/Essayfilm-Teddy）劇情類（Spielfilm-Teddy）
目前泰迪熊的獎座，上面是一只金屬制成熊，而底座則是選用柏林當地的石頭。獎座上的熊原形是來自于一位同志繪畫家Ralf K?nig，并由設計師Astrid Stenzel完成雕塑。

2012年共有48部作品競逐泰迪熊，包括開幕電影、講述法國末代皇后瑪麗·安托瓦內特生平的“再見，我的王后”（Farewell, My Queen）；于今年初亮相圣丹斯收割好評的“點亮燈光”（Keep The Lights On）和“我的魔鬼兄弟”（My Brother The Devil）；越南和烏干達各自首部同志電影“忘返天堂”（Lost In Paradise）和“苦楚我名” （Call Me Kuchu）；以及反映中國酷兒影展夾縫求生的“我們的故事”（Our Story）。此外還有兩部舊片以特別重映的形式再戰柏林，分別是美國導演湯姆·卡林的“奪魄”（Swoon，1992）和我國香港特別行政區導演楊凡的“妖街皇后”（Redux Bugis Street，1995）。經過色彩渲染和畫面修復后兩部影片分別進入了今年的論壇單元和全景單元。
中國內地唯一參與角逐泰迪熊的“我們的故事”，記錄了2001-2011十年里在國內官方的重壓和封鎖下，一群學生和獨立影人如何用運動游擊戰的方式堅持舉辦北京酷兒影展的寶貴歷史。豐富的現場影像、圖片資料，以及當事人的自白，將影展背后不為人知的“我們的故事”如實道來。作為影展創始人和主席，導演楊洋在剪輯時曾寫道： “2001年，當我參與舉辦第一屆影展的時候，并沒有想到自己會在這條路上走這么久。只是覺得，這個世界上也應該有一些不同于所謂主流的生活方式，以及人與人之間的相處模式。而這些不一樣的生活方式和人際模式也應該被尊重，即使不能被理解。而當它們不被容許的時候，就需要為之抗爭，而不是自動地妥協。”
