中國全國性的電視文藝獎。首屆發(fā)獎儀式于1987年5月30日晚采用現(xiàn)場直播《今夜星光燦爛》文藝晚會方式舉行。舉辦該電視文藝獎的目的是為繁榮電視文藝創(chuàng)作，提高電視文藝節(jié)目質(zhì)量，辦好電視文藝專欄，豐富屏幕。首次晚會有77個節(jié)目分別獲一、二、三等獎，中國中央電視臺的1987年春節(jié)聯(lián)歡晚會獲“特別文藝節(jié)目”最佳節(jié)目獎。另外，有26人獲單項獎Chinesenational TVArtsand Culture Award.
